  • Sales declining since 2009 indicating fierce competition
     

  • Proportional sales by region have changed in recent years. A decline in NA and an increase in Japan sales
     

  • Respective market shares of Sports and Shooter games are growing whilst Action / Adventure sales are declining

Conclusions

  • Proportional sales by region have been changing over time
     

  • Action / Adventure games genre sales have been proportionately declining

Recommendations

  • Adjust the Marketing budget allocation in line with recent trends:
     

    • Increase Marketing spend in EU and Japan regions

    • Decrease Marketing spend in NA region
       

  • Focus resources across the four largest genres:
     

    • Increase resource allocation on Sports and Shooter games as these are growing markets where there is potential to increase the company’s market share

    • Offset against a reduction of investment in Role- playing (and possibly Action / Adventure) games which show declining market shares
